The biochemical properties of tumor cells and their metabolism are abnormal, so the substances that are qualitatively or quantitatively changed in the body fluids, excretions and tissues of tumor patients are tumor markers. Tumor markers are mainly used clinically for the discovery of primary tumors, the screening of high-risk groups of tumors, the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant tumors, the judgment of the degree of tumor development, the observation and evaluation of tumor treatment effects, and the prediction of tumor recurrence and prognosis, etc. .

  • Pregastrin-Releasing Peptide (ProGRP)

The human GRP gene encodes a 148-amino acid prepro-gastrin-releasing peptide protein (preproGRP). After the signal peptide is dissociated, preproGRP is converted into ProGRP1-125, and ProGRP1-125 continues to generate mature gastrin-releasing peptide GRP1-27, GRP18-27 and a C-terminal extension peptide, which continues to generate ProGRP containing 68 amino acids. The GRP produced by tumor cells of SCLC patients is positively correlated with ProGRP. Since the half-life of gastrin-releasing peptide is very short, only two minutes, it is impossible to detect in blood, so ProGRP is determined.

  • Protein Induced by Vitamin K Absence or Antagonist-II(PIVKA-II)

Protein Induced by Vitamin K Absence or Antagonist-II (PIVKA-II) is a protein that is induced by vitamin K deficiency or antagonist-II (PIVKA-II) in the human body, also known as de-γ-carboxyprothrombin (DCP). Normal prothrombin is synthesized by hepatocytes. The only difference between abnormal and normal is that the glutamic acid residue at the specific position of its amino terminal is not carboxylated prothrombin.

  • Squamous Cell Carcinoma Antigen(SCC)

Squamous cell carcinoma antigen (SCCA, SCC) is a subfragment of glycoprotein TA-4 isolated from cervical squamous cell carcinoma tissue. SCC is a 42 kDa glycoprotein that can be detected by immunohistochemical analysis of squamous tissues of the lung, vulva, lower cervix, esophagus, and skin. The corresponding genes of SCCA encode two antigens, neutral SCCA1 and acidic SCCA2, which can be detected in serum. The biological function of SCCA is to inhibit enzyme activity. SCCA1 can inhibit papain-like cysteine proteases (cathepsin L, S and K), and SCCA2 can inhibit chymotrypsin-like serine proteases, cathepsin G and chymase.

  • Pepsinogen(PG I/II)

PGI and PGII are proteins secreted by gastric mucosal cells. About 1% of pepsinogen enters the blood and exists stably, and the secretion of pepsinogen will be changed when the stomach shrinks. Therefore, the levels of PGI and PGII in serum can be used as reliable indicators of gastric mucosal atrophy. At present, the detection of pepsinogen level has been considered as "serological gastroscopic detection". There are many studies on the clinical use of pepsinogen in Asia, and there is clear evidence that the detection of pepsinogen level can effectively detect atrophic gastritis, and it has become a consensus that atrophic gastritis is an early precancerous lesion of intestinal metaplasia and gastric cancer. A large population study showed that when PGI/PGII was increased, the sensitivity and specificity of the detection increased to 93% and 88%, respectively.
