Clinical Significance

Dengue virus belongs to a subgroup of serotypes in the genus Flavivirus, family Flaviviridae, with a morphological structure similar to that of B encephalitis virus, but with a smaller size of about 17-25 nm. Among them, type 2 is the most widely spread, the antigenicity of each type of virus cross, and B encephalitis virus and West Nile virus also have part of the same antigen. The virus can proliferate in mosquitoes and in Aedes albopictus passaged cells (C6/36 cells), monkey kidney, and gopher kidney primary and passaged cells, and produce obvious cytopathic lesions.

Dengue virus is mainly transmitted by vector insects such as Aedes ae-gyPti and Aedes albopictus, causing dengue fever (DF) as well as dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) and dengue shock fever (DHF) with high morbidity and mortality. (DHF) and dengue shock syndrome (DSS), which have high morbidity and mortality. Patients and invisible infections are the main source of infection for this disease, while primates in the jungle are the animal hosts that maintain the natural circulation of the virus. Blood from patients in the febrile phase is isolated and fixed by inoculation into the brain of naive mice.
