Thyroid Stimulating Hormone Receptor (TSHR)

Clinical Significance

TSHR is a macromolecular glycoprotein located in the follicular cell membrane of the thyroid gland and belongs to the G protein-coupled receptor superfamily, which is the main antigen of toxic diffuse goiter. It is divided into three parts: extracellular, transmembrane and intracellular regions.
TSHR is a thyroid hormone receptor, mainly located on the thyroid body, which can recognize thyroid stimulating hormone from the pituitary gland and bind to it, and its function is to stimulate thyroid follicular cells to produce thyroid hormone and triiodothyroid hormone to maintain normal energy metabolism, growth and development and other physiological functions of the body.
